this is made from earthenware clay and low fired to save energy. Instead of being wrapped around a mould and trimmed, handformed pottery has soft edges and is curved into shape to make a gentler circle thats different every time, making them more tactile allowing for more movement in the glaze. I decorate my pottery with hand carved linocuts or hand stamped text, then highlight these with a dark underglaze then apply glazes to make them waterproof dishwasher proof and even suitable for the microwave.
